
Biography
Dr. Minter is a distinguished Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon renowned for his extensive expertise in sports medicine and reconstructive surgery, arthroscopic surgery, general orthopedics, and fracture treatment. He embarked on his medical journey by earning a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta in 1992. Following this, he completed a rigorous internship at the same institution from 1992 to 1993, and then a residency in orthopedic surgery from 1993 to 1997. Further honing his skills, Dr. Minter pursued a fellowship in arthroscopy and sports medicine at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, VA, from 1997 to 1998. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Minter is an esteemed member of several professional associations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. His commitment to medical excellence is further highlighted by his involvement with fellowship trainers for the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he contributes to the development of future orthopedic specialists.
Dr. Minter has an impressive history of serving as a team physician. He was a former 20-year team physician for ECHL and SPHL professional hockey teams and also served as the team physician for Augusta State University. Additionally, Dr. Minter has been a team physician to multiple high schools, providing 30 years of sideline game coverage, reflecting his deep commitment to supporting athletes at various levels.
