Health Tip: How to Remember to Take Your Medications
(HealthDay News) -- Forgetting to take your medication is a common problem, says the National Alliance on Mental Illness. But a missed dose can have negative effects on your emotional and physical health.
To help you remember to take medication, the alliance suggests:
- Use a pillbox. Place it in an area where it will be easily seen.
- Place your medication near an alarm clock or coffee pot.
- Set an alarm when it is time to take medication.
NAMI encourages you to talk with your healthcare provider about the best option for you. An outreach team or visiting nurse may be available to assist you in taking your medication.
