Biography
Charles T. Fryberger III, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialized expertise in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery, serving patients at our Fayetteville and Peachtree City locations. Dr. Fryberger completed his fellowship at the renowned Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Institute, and his areas of specialization include knee, shoulder, elbow, and ankle arthroscopy, sports medicine, total joint replacement surgery, general orthopedics, adult and pediatric fracture care, and work-related injuries.
A graduate of Auburn University, Dr. Fryberger earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at the prestigious Campbell Clinic, University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. With extensive experience treating athletes at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels, Dr. Fryberger has honed his skills in sports medicine. During his fellowship, he provided medical coverage for the University of Alabama football team and other university sports programs.
In addition to his work with the University of Alabama, Dr. Fryberger has covered major sporting events, including the 2022 SEC Baseball Tournament, the Birmingham Barons Minor League Baseball team, and the USFL’s Philadelphia Stars. He also served as a medical provider at The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, covering sports such as muay thai, wakeboarding, waterskiing, sport climbing, canopy piloting, and gymnastics. Locally, he helps lead our Fayette County Sports Medicine Outreach Program, serves as the team physician for McIntosh High School, and covers additional high schools in the area. Dr. Fryberger also leads the Friday night football injury clinic throughout the football season at our Peachtree City location, dedicating his expertise to supporting high school athletes and actively engaging with the community.

Community Involvement
Outside of his medical career, Dr. Fryberger enjoys wakeboarding, ultimate frisbee, and golf, and he is a passionate guitarist. Dr. Fryberger resides in the Fayetteville-Peachtree City area with his wife, who was also his college sweetheart, and their three children.
