Biography
Jason D. Kinkartz, M.D. is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and provides care for his patients in our Rockdale location. His practice involves operative and non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal injuries in patients aging from adolescents to the elderly, and from the inactive to the professional athlete. After a thorough evaluation in clinic to determine a patient’s problem, a non-operative approach to treatment is typically formulated. If this is unsuccessful, a discussion of surgical treatment options may follow, if appropriate.
Dr. Kinkartz specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including shoulder and knee arthroscopy, to repair or replace ligaments, tendons, cartilage, or other damaged structures using the latest scientifically proven techniques. Dr. Kinkartz also performs innovative cartilage repair and restoration procedures, joint replacements, fracture stabilization, and complex and revision surgeries. When needed, he also uses specialized, patient-specific, customized surgical implants and guides to optimize patient outcomes.
During his training, Dr. Kinkartz worked with and treated all levels of athletes, from professional (Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies MLB), to recreational athletes. Dr. Kinkartz enjoys working with patients of all ages, in every walk of life, and takes pride in treating every patient as if they were his own family.
Dr. Kinkartz received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Biology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He continued his education to receive his Master of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Kinkartz completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio and completed his Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Denver, Colorado.
